BIC Media releases eBooks for Apple iBook Store to the launch of iPad in Germany
Just in time with the release of the iPad in Germany, more than 2000 e-books of the publishers Random House and Lübbe were made available in the Apple iBook Store via the e-delivery platform “BIC Media”. Therefore a special interface was integrated into BIC Media, which allows customers to transfer their e-books from BIC Media-Repository automated to Apple, including meta data and covers.
This constitutes a consistent advancement of arvato system’s iTunes Apps strategy. Already since 2009, arvato systems develops iPhone Apps for e-books, which are delivered to the App Store via BIC Media as well. After a recompilation, those programs function smoothly on the iPad. Therefore the iPad-/iBook-Store-Interface is a reasonable addition for the iTunes-module, which is part of the BIC-Media-platform besides the modules for marketing, business intelligence and print on demand.
The iPad reading application offers everything readers of the print version appreciate – good legibility, clear arranged layout and high-definition pictures. At the same time, the innovative new user interface including many multi-touch functions allows an extensive use of the iPad. In this way, the iPad affords web browsing just like music, videos, photos and many more. This flexibility guarantees a reading pleasure readers have never seen before.
